With hardly any difference to the classical hiking
methods, and with no need for extra equipment,
nordic walking provides a highly effective full body training,
which brings ideal training effects.
"Urweg-Trail" and "Zirbenwald Trail":
Our Urweg trail at its highest niveau
From Obergurgl 1,930 m to the Karlsruher Hütte 2,430 m

The start of the Urweg trail fro Obergurgl to the Karlsruher Hütte is based at the first bend at the top of the village on the road leading to the Gaiserberg bridge (Route 7).

At the western slope of the Hohen Mut, the route leads easy to medium up to the Schönwieshütte (2,262 m) at the entrance of the Rotmoos valley.

From here, proceed to the Karrenweg (route 8) first down to the Gurgler Alm (8,000 year old cultural landscape) with the Schäferhütte built of stone.

Then carry on into the valley across the Hangerer path under the Langtalereck and up the steep path to the family-run Karlsruher Hütte.

Next to this route, the "Zirbenwald trail"
(2,2 km) provides easier hiking for beginners with a beautiful landscape near to the centre of Obergurgl.
